Yo! Hey, Garci?

Well, well, well. It seems that the walls around Garci are beginning to crack. The Central Bank announced yesterday that Garci's passport, at least the one submitted for examination, is a fake. A forgery! No less than six imperfections, tsk tsk.

ABS CBN Interactive reports it this way:

"The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), however, said one of the passports submitted by Garcillano was fake. A report by the BSP Banknotes and Securities Printing Department said Garcillano's passport with number code JJ243816 "does not conform to standard", noting discrepancies in the size of the booklet, the paper used, the stitching and print quality.

It said the size of the booklet (123mm x 85 mm) was smaller than the standard: the inside front cover (data page) and inside back cover, paper and print, stitching and additional stitch along the seam do not conform to standard and pages 1 to 32 had cuts and joints along the seam that should not have been there."

It gets even better - later today, Senator Serge Osmena revealed that a passenger bearing the name "Virgilio Garcillano" was on a flight from Johannesburg, South Africa, to Singapore last year. If it is proven that Gloria's Garci was THE Garci on that plane, Garci's got a lot of explaining to do.

For as long as one stays the course, one will eventually find the truth. Keep digging, guys, keep digging.

I have to say that your peaceful and lawful protests are practical and reasonable. I hope that you guyz can also create a peaceful and lawful protest action here in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. Alabang is also a good place where such "Black Friday Protest Action" can be a success. You can organize such a protest action at the Ayala, Alabang Town Center. Another fine place is at inside the Festival Mall, Filinvest Village, Alabang. There are lots of "middle-class people" in those places that can sympathize with your cause. Please bring the "Black Friday Protest Action" here in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. I hope that such action will take place on March 31, 2006. I will wait for your kind reply. Thanks. From RAMONO PEREZ

From a really exasperated kababayan and one who is telling the truth!

Subject: PAANO NAMAN KAMING MGA MIDDLE CLASS NA PINOY

Nung People Power namin nagyayakapan kami lahat nuon.

Sabi nga sa Spiderman "with great power comes great responsibility".....kaya maging spiderman kayo lahat at protektahan ang mamamayan.

People’s Initiative should come from the people and not from Puno. What 65% of the people want is for Glueria to resign, and not to change the constitution.

Again, as we already know, the purpose of Cha-Cha is to protect GMA from future litigations, or at most to perpetuate herself and cohorts to power for the rest of our lives.

Whether Parliamentary is better than Presidential should be viewed from the persons who advocate for it - Arroyo, De Venecia, & Ramos - the three most unpopular politicians in the country today.

GARCI PASSPORT

I believe that when Garci “toured” the world last year, he was using an authentic passport as issued by the DFA.

The Central Bank’s findings suggest that the same passport is not fake but shows some alterations. This is an accurate statement because that passport is not fake.

But in order to support Garci’s claimed that he didn’t go out of the country to escape inquiry, that same passport was stripped off of some of its pages which bore the marks of the countries he’d been to.

Sometime in 2002, I’ve been privileged to work as an apprentice in one of the shops in Recto which produced these fake Diploma/Certificates, and the process is really easy.

First, we scan the “Original” then load it on CorelDraw. Then we trace the logo, texts, and other grahics on it. With more than 2000 fonts available “authenticity” is always a click away.

Before the actual printing, we will look for the appropriate preprinted form. Preprinting of these forms were done years ago. These offset printers share stocks of “blank” diplomas of a particular schools [among other certificates] among themselves to lower the cost. All we need doing is print the client’s name on it. Presto, you just graduated from UST for P500!

After a week, i resigned from this job. The last thing i did there was to type the text of a land title.

Garci’s passport undergone an easier process, because the faker only need to remove those marked pages and replace them with blank ones. But since the time to do this was limited, the faking was done hastily.

When the new pages were inserted and sewn in, the same were not perfectly alligned at the edges, which is always the case during bookbinding especially when the sewing process ain’t done carefully. The final step would be to TRIM the edges thru a huge cutter. This would explain why Garci’s passport is smaller in size than the standard!

Faking a document is somehow an Art form. You feel rewarded when one can’t tell the fake from authentic.

Will faking a “People’s Initiative” become an Art? Well, from all indications, they are in that process.
