IN MEMORIAM

Our people have been visited by countless tragedies throughout our history. We have experienced natural disasters, war, and sickness. But the needless deaths caused by the stampede at Ultra were especially heartrending because the victims were our impoverished. Our poor do not deserve any more suffering.

Enough has been written about the tragedy. We do not wish to gain from despair. We condole with the families who have lost those they love most. We pray for the swift recovery of the injured. And we pray most of all that our poor will never be forgotten.
