"Muslims cannot dishonor a treaty; they cannot mutilate the dead; they cannot kill women, children, the elderly or any person who does not carry weapons" - Quote from a Khutba (sermon during Friday congregational prayers in the mosques) prepared by the Mufti's of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao
The Black & White Movement condemns in the strongest possible terms the beheading of ten marine soldiers following a firefight with members of the 8th Marine Battalion Landing Team (MBLT). "It is an inhuman and barbaric act that has no place in any civilized society and we ask that all means be exhausted to bring the perpetrators to justice", says BnW lead convenor Enteng Romano.

Islam condemns decapitation or mutilation of human beings. Filipinos of all faiths decry this brutal act. We condole with the families of the dead.

We are likewise dismayed and horrified at the substandard equipment with which the marines were made to defend themselves. TV news footage showing the failure of a trench mortar to fire as the marines fought for their lives was pitiful and heartrending. We place the blame squarely on the shoulders of the AFP leadership and the current administration for its failure to curtail widespread corruption in military procurement. Once again, the lowly soldier pays the ultimate price for greed and corruption in the military establishment.

We call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and urge the protagonists to return to the negotiating table to pursue a long term solution to the armed struggle that roils Mindanao.

We are one nation yearning for peace.

If it is true that muslims cannot and will mutilate/decapitate the dead, then a non-muslim did it. There must be overpowering reason and motivation for butchering the dead - ten times.

When beheadings happen they say that the perpetrators are non-muslims and they don't believe in islams. How come they pray the same as muslims and talk about this jihad nonesense. How do you describe UAE? As we all know that's they're tradition "the beheading". Is there anybody seen the movie (this is all about the truth) Fahrenheit 9/11 were you can see clips of beheading. I remember the article i read online the MILF claim about the encounter but denies any beheadings. Take note and analyse! The MILF says that there's no abu sayyaf or other group within they're territory and no abu sayyaf involve in the encounter so whose group is responsible for the headings when infact the encounter happen within they're territory? Rescue is not part of MILF ideology and i believe the Phils. doesn't need them as they are one of the major problems in our society. And how come they have they're own territory, does it mean they have they're own law and can claim any part of the Phils? The bottom line is do we need to trust the MILF?

Hi sis,

I am outraged at what happened in Basilan. To me, its a failure of leadership of both the AFP and the MILF.

Regarding the dud shells, they're proudly mad in the USA. It shows what we get from our ally. The corruption in the AFP is the culprit.

While pencil-pushing, ass-warming generals sit comfortably in their air-conditioned offices counting their kickbacks, ill-equipped soldiers are being massacred in the field.
