Magiting 51 - Will They Stay the Course?

Here they are, folks. The 51 Representatives that signed a House Resolution against a Constitutional Assembly. We continue to have faith in that they will all stay the course, despite rumors that at least 17 of them are being courted to take back their signatures. You see, Joe De Venecia still thinks Gloria hasn't abandoned him, that his road to the Prime Ministership is paved with her promises. So he continues to woo the Congressmen, the ones he believes will cave in to the bait - No-El and no term limits courtesy of Cha Cha. Not to mention the millions that Gloria promises by way of pork and possible under the table goodies.

Tempting, indeed. Do take note, not all the pro-Impeachment Congressmen are pictured above. Where are Fuentebella, Roman and Paras? Edmund Reyes, Ace Barbers, Teddy Locsin? Seneres and Pingoy are nowhere to be found. Why didn't they sign the Resolution? And will they still be on the same side when it comes to counting heads for the upcoming Impeachment?

Is there going to BE a 2nd impeachment attempt? Some say that unless there already are 79 ready to jump on the one third rule, there won't even be an attempt, since the result will be the same as last year during the updown vote that will inevitably come. I think the Supreme Court was just building up some political capital and good will for the dirty job it's about to do...

Well, we've been invited to a meeting on Wednesday regarding the possibility of a 2nd attempt. Should I find out anything substantive, I'll let you know, DJB. There's a lot of room left for doubt, for sure, not to mention the many diversions being thrown our way. For our part, BnW continues to study the idea of "snap" or "special" elections, and will continue to speak out against this Cha Cha.

where's edmund reyes?

as for teddyboy locsin, i'm not surprised by his absense in the list.

About Edmund, I'm thinking of asking his parents-in-law, the Sisons, about his deep quiet, John. Haven't the slightest idea. About Teddy Boy, I heard he still writes some of Gloria's speeches. If I'm wrong, please correct this assumption.

teddyboy's like joker arroyo. they try to straddle the fence as much as possible even though i believe both are leaning to the pro-arroyo camp.

notice na every now and then they make their little criticisms/parinigs vs. the arroyo admin, but they stop short of calling for her resignation.

re teddyboy's vote to impeach arroyo, i believe it was a calculated move to protect his reputation dahil alam nyang hindi aabot ng 79 votes ang impeachment complaint last year, and his boss arroyo is safe.

besides, he's still retains his chairmanship sa isang house committee, IIRC. which is a sign na hindi siya itinuturing na kaaway ni arroyo unlike remulla and others.

Magiting o Balimbing! How about a list of senators whom are anti-GMA-De Venecia charter change version?
House Speaker Jose De Venecia claimed 187 congressmen are committed to support constituent assembly (Con-ASS) resolution. Is there dagdag-bawas operations going on?
KUARTA o KAHON! When the “price” is right, they have an option to sell their souls to Satan. Malacanang Palace can use public funds to bribe congressmen or offer them juicy positions in the Executive Department. We should learn a lesson from the impeachment last year. Some lawmakers sided with evil Gloria Arroyo because the power of money and greed. How about Chief Justice Brenda or Justice SiRaulo? Super balimbing Senator Miriam Santiago sudden 180 degrees turn on charter change has something to do with the vacant Supreme Court Chief Justice post this coming December 2006. It’s best for the nation to oust bogus President Gloria Arroyo before any charter change.

Yup, both Teddy Boy and Joker like to give the impression of impartiality. As for Joker, some say he's concerned about how history will describe him.

As for the Senate, I'm almost finished with my gallery of those that signed Resolution 473, will post it shortly. Brenda will be Brenda, no surprise there. What do you all think about Frank giving way to Manny? Take note - once Senate President, he can't run in the event we have a special election. That effectively takes him off the roster of possible candidates. Hmmm...

Nakakatakot kayo, para kayong Pol Pot of Cambodia. You want to take down Noli de Castro because he refuses to take a stand against GMA. So what do you do with the high school teachers and college professors who (through their own independent reasoning) really do not support GMA-impeachment ... do you take them out to the country for re-education?
